Identifying gaps in knowledge and practice and locating initiatives that address gaps in a systematic manner has been a core effort of ICCHN. Workshops, seminars and consultations contribute towards these efforts in a significant way. These forums also help in critically reviewing strategies, disseminating learnings and experiences sectorally in order to influence programmatic designs and policies. ICCHN, therefore, has organised various workshops and consultations.

Key Workshops and Consultations

National Workshop on Community Health Worker Training: Linking Pedagogy and Practice

Consultation on Integrating Micro Finance, Health and Nutrition

Consultation on Public Health Research

Improving Maternal and Child Healthcare for the Urban Poor: Sustainable and Scaleable        Strategies

Reducing IUGR Incidence in India: Additional Health worker Strategies

Infant Mortality Workshop

Besides organising these workshops and consultations, ICCHN has also supported various organisations to undertake such initiatives. Noteworthy among these are ICCHN's support to the National Health Assembly – 2 organised in Bhopal in March 2007; the workshop on Foetal Origins of Childhood and Adult Disease: Counting Economic Costs organised by the Society for Natal Effects on Health in Adults (SNEHA) in November 2006; the National Workshop on Development of Guidelines for Effective Home Based Care and Treatment of Children Suffering from Severe Undernutrition organised by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in November 2005; the 31st Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine organised by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in February 2004; and the First World Congress on Foetal Origins of Adult Disease organised by the Society for Natal Effects on Health in Adults (SNEHA) in March 2001.
